2ND  ANNUAL BOUTIQUES GIVE BACK CHARITY DAY

Old Town Boutique District| Alexandria, VA

This creative, small business driven event is staged to be the largest charity collaboration in the DC Metro area. Over 30 retailers and 30 charities will be participating in this event. Each retail member of the OTBD has hand- picked local and national charities to support and honor on this special shopping day. On this day, retailers will create an activity or promotion in their stores that would benefit that charity of choice.

Examples of charity day participation include children’s boutique Pink & Brown will donate profits to K.I.D.S. (Kids In Distressed Situations), Current Boutique will give customers 15% off their purchases if they donate gently used suits for Suited for Change, and Red Barn Mercantile will host a variety of activities such as free design advice all day, craft for kids and 20% of sales from the day will go to Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia.

DC CRAFT MAFIA’S SPRING THING CRAFT SHOW

The second annual Spring Thing craft show, put on by Washington DC’s Craft Mafia, is scheduled for May! This year’s show will feature over 40 local vendors showing off their creative DIY house wears, baby goods, jewelry, hula hoops, art and more.

Local charity Lucky Dog Rescue will be there for furry love and adoptions, and live music by Dave Tieff (Check out his music on his homepage) will be provided early on in the show. So come out and pick up some unique crafts while enjoying the Spring weather! The first 250 visitors will receive a gift tote!

Spooky Action’s annual Gala will feature a silent Auction and a Runway fashion show that Heidi Klum would be proud of.. Exquisite clothing, shoes and accessories by famous designers Hermès, Armani, Ungaro, Hanae Mori, Miyake will be presented at the Gala and a pre-Gala sale on May 18.. Also highlighted will be pieces by Madame Grès, one of the brilliant couturiers that made Paris the twentieth century’s center of fashion; and Ronaldus Shamask, voted Outstanding Designer by the Council of Fashion Designs of America.

The Gala will include canapés, desert, a wine and beer bar, with plenty of time to bid on vintage fashions and mingle with the Runway cast.
