Job Opportunity: Worn Magazine

08 Jun Job Opportunity: Worn Magazine

Worn Magazine is a DC-born publication intended to bring greater awareness of local fashion and art to the District and to the nation. The Worn Magazine team is busy producing their fourth issue and are looking to local writers, photographers, and models to contribute.

Read below for the job descriptions via the magazine’s founder Nicole Aguirre:

Writers: If you are an experienced writer interested in covering art and fashion, and/or have a story idea you’re dying to pitch, AND you’ve read Worn and think your voice matches their style, send us a writing sample of 300-1,000 words. We accept both journalistic pieces and creative writing. WARNING: Writing for Worn is not for the faint of heart. No writer writes a perfect piece on the first try, so be prepared for several rounds of editing.

Photographers: If you like what you’ve seen in Worn and believe your work can stand up to that of our former photo headliner Joshua Yospyn, send us a link to your online portfolio and we’ll be glad to consider your work for this upcoming and future issues.

Models: At Worn, it’s important to us that the faces on our pages reflect the real faces we see everyday. We work with regular people who look great on camera and also with aspiring models. If you’re confident in front of the camera and can rock a pair of pink skinny jeans or a red bow tie, send us 3-5 individual photos of yourself, including both full body and head shots.  We are looking for both male and female models. (Please no dark facebook photos from the club.)
