Job Opportunity: Living Social Merchandise Buyer- Children’s Goods

In order to reach our goals, we’re looking to hire a Merchandise Buyer to help us bring interesting goods to our members at a great value. The Merchandise Buyer will be an integral part of LivingSocial’s team, responsible identifying and working with Consumer Goods vendors. In this role you’ll leverage deep and broad knowledge and relationships in the Children’s Merchandise vertical to ensure LivingSocial customers have access to an engaging, high quality mix of Children’s goods to choose from.

Specific responsibilities include:
Help develop and implement the merchandising strategy.
Assist in creating sales planning strategy and objectives to reach revenue goals
Initiating new relationships and maintaining existing relationships with vendors
Implementing the Buying Process:
Choosing the styles and quantities of pieces to be sold for each sale.
Negotiating buying terms with the brand (price, quantity, delivery terms)
Keeping abreast of industry trends and new product ideas by reading relevant magazines, visiting stores regularly and attending trade shows.
Minimum of 5 years experience working in Merchandising
Demonstrated knowledge of and established relationships in the Children’s Merchandise vertical.
