Taking Maxi Dresses & Skirts from Summer to Fall

Taking Maxi Dresses & Skirts from Summer to Fall

by ATFDC Contributor Kelsi Zimmerman

Don’t want to pack away your maxi skirts and dresses with the rest of your summer wardrobe? You don’t have to! I will provide you with tips on how to take your maxi pieces of your wardrobe from summer to fall.

According to the runways back in February, this fall the trend for the appearance of garments is “manipulated fabrics”, meaning garments that are draped, patterned, have laser-cut details, printed on, lacquered or even metallic. The colors that will fill the retail stores this fall? Black (of course), Titanium, French Roast, Pink Flambe, Tangerine, Ultramarine Green and Honey Gold.

Pantone Fall Colors

Considering the forecasted trends for this fall, us as Fashiontonians are in luck, because plenty of local retailers in the DMV have maxi dresses and skirts incorporating these trends to make sure we are on top of the trends for this fall.

From Violet Boutique in Georgetown located 2439 18th St NW, you can purchase this whole look which is perfect for fall. A printed maxi under an oversized sweater paired with these lace-up Rebecca Minkoff chestnut booties that you can purchase from The Shoe Hive located at 127 South Fairfax Street in Alexandria.
