12 Sep Shopping At One of the Best & Cheapest Stores in Town: My Closet

Six weeks ago, I had surgery on my foot. Needless to say, I’ve missed quite a few events because of it (although I was always guaranteed a seat on the bus so I take the good with the bad). But Fashion Night Out was one I didn’t want to miss. Plus I was really excited to wear my new fabulous dress from Forever21!

I’ve been slowly getting back into some of my favorite shoes & I figured my low kitten heels would be ok. I was wrong. Thankfully there was a DSW nearby so I could rescue myself from major pain & find something to go with my dress. Cute & comfy boots to the rescue! Unfortunately it was money I didn’t have to spend.

So for this week’s post, I’ve decided to go shopping at one of the best and cheapest stores in town: my closet. Booties have been big for the past few years and they are one of my fashion staples. These booties from Blowfish are a perfect compliment to a lot of pieces in my closet.

Blowfish Booties

Sunday I had brunch with a friend and opted to pair them with one of my favorite rompers from ASOS & and an Old Navy clutch.  I also recently bought a faux leather panel skirt from Forever21 that I will rock with these booties & a denim top or sheer black top. Of course booties are really easy to pair with pair of jeans & your favorite top for a more relaxed look.

As a style consultant, I always stress to my clients that before you head to the store, you should always look in your closet for any hidden gems or inspiration. A tight budget is most definitely an incentive to give some of those clothes collecting dust another look! Even though I have a pair of booties from Aldo that I adore, these Blowfish booties are a bit more casual, and can be played down with a lot of options from skirts to jeans.

I will be going on the hunt for more boots for curvy fashiontonians in the near future, stay tuned!
